Tá an cnuasach is mó de lámhscríbhinní Gaeilge dá bhfuil ag aon leabharlann aonair le fáil i Leabharlann Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann. Tá lámhscríbhinní sa chnuasach seo a bhaineann leis an 8ú haois anuas go dtí an 20ú haois, réimse aimsire a chuireann go mór le tábhacht an chnuasaigh. Réimse leathan ábhar atá sna lámhscríbhinní seo chomh maith: luathliotúirge, ginealaigh, dlí, leigheas, litríocht idir phrós is fhilíocht, annála, beathaí naomh. Ar sheoda an chnuasaigh seo tá: Leabhar Aifrinn Stowe (8ú haois déanach), leabhar aifrinn Laidne de chuid luatheaglais na hÉireann, agus tá ann leis tráchtas Gaelach ar an aifreann agus piseoga i gcoinnibh galar súl agus mar sin de; Lebor na hUidre (12ú haois luath) an lámhscríbhinn Ghaeilge is luaithe dá bhfuil againn, tá an leagan is sine ann de Táin Bó Cuailgne. Seoda eile is ea lámhscribhinní Annála Ríoghachta Éireann (1632–36); agus Leabhar Mór Leacáin (15ú haois luath) a bhfuil Dinnsheanchas, Bansheanchas, Lebor Gabála, Leabhar na gCeart, agus téacsaí tábhachtacha eile le fáil ann.

Bíonn an-éileamh ar na lámhscríbhinní seo ag lucht léinn abhus agus thar lear. Cuireann lámhscríbhinní an Acadaimh ar chumas scoláirí leaganacha éagsúla de théacsaí tábhachtacha a chur i gcomórtas le chéile agus eagráin agus tráchtais údarásacha a chumadh dá réir. Ní i gcónaí a bhíonn taighdeoirí in ann teacht go dtí an Leabharlann áfach agus ní mó ná sásúil a bhíonn cóipeanna mionscannáin nó macasamhala de na lámhscríbhinní i gcónaí ach oiread. Is dá bharr sin an t-ardáthas atá ar an Acadamh páirt a ghlacadh i dtionscnamh ISOS, mar go mbeidh ar a chumas foinsí tábhachtacha a chur ar fáil do lucht léinn agus don bpobal i gcoitinne.
