(Gaelic MS XI). MEDICAL.
Mackinnon, p.31; Mackechnie, p.147.
?16th cent. Vellum. 4 ff. Folio, 28 × 21 cms. Two bifolia, stitched with thread. Written in two columns by Feargus Ó Caiside in the house of Énrigh Ó Caiside, perhaps at a place called Faithche Caorach in co. Monaghan or Fermanagh (4r.a34; cf. Éigse 2, p.165). His hand is simple, small and neat. The sole marginalium, “amen”, 4r, may be by another hand. f. 4v is partly illegible through staining and rubbing, the manuscript having been folded in half with the back outwards; the account of it below is therefore in some respects tentative. Not numbered by Major MacLachlan, and not listed in Mackintosh’s catalogue. Numbered 7 by Hugh Kerr, whose name or initials appear on every leaf. Foliation modern.
With the manuscript is a letter, 1 f. , Thomas E. Cassidy, New Rochelle, N.Y., to the Curator of the Advocates’ Library, 4 July 1921, on the subject of a later Fergus O Cassidy and his descendants.
