St Edmundsbury Cathedral Ancient Library was founded by Dr Miles Mosse, the preacher at St James' Church, in 1595, as a resource for clergy training, and is the second oldest parochial library in England. It houses over 550 books, mainly printed in the 16th and 17th centuries.
