Notespp. 85-88 contain a fragment of the Book of the White Earl, a manuscript written between 1410 and 1452 for James Butler, 4th Earl of Ormond (d. 1452), who became known as the White Earl. The fragment contains Dinnseanchas of 10 places.

DescriptionTCD MS 1436 is a composite manuscript consisting of vellum manuscripts and two parts of paper (pp. 17-36, 129-219). It is mostly medical material, though there are several poems, as well as a fragment of the Book of the White Earl.
